From the Take Action section of the website www.climatecrisis.net
Do something to help stop global warming. 10 simple things you can do plus how much carbon dioxide you'll save doing them.
Change a light Replacing one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb will save 150 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
Drive Less Walk, bike, carshare or take public transit more often. You'll save one pound of carbon dioxide for every mile you don't drive!
Recycle more You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per year by recycling just half of your household waste.
Check your car tyres Keeping your tires inflated properly can improve gas mileage by more than 3%. Every gallon of petrol saved keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of our atmosphere!
Use less hot water It takes a lot of energy to heat water. Use less hot water by installing a low flow showerhead (350 pounds of CO2 saved per year) and washing your clothes in cold or warm water (500 pounds saved per year).
Avoid products with a lot of packaging You can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide if you cut down your garbage by 10%.
Turn down your thermostat Move your thermostat down just 2 degrees in winter and up 2 degrees in summer. You could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple adjustment.
Plant trees A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.
Turn off electronic devices Simply turning off your television, DVD player, stereo, and computer when you're not using them will save you thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
Spread the word! Tell everyone you know about these simple ways to Take Action!
Sewing, Photography, playing with
Technology, Shopping and Having Fun in general. Love spending time watching movies and stitching.. preferably together.
I Adore Music and have a huge eclectic collection of just about
every genre of music there is. Generally my love is acoustic, which doesn't narrow it down much....
Love spending time on my computer and using it to help me with my crafty projects.... I love Books and have a huge collection of them... and I guess I should
add collecting in general to my list!! Gardening, I love growing things but adore Fuchsia's and Lily's in particular.

STITCHER'S VERSE
Cross-stitchers are a different breed
The things we hope for, the things we need.
We wish for floss to finish that row.
We sometimes wish our guests would go.
We wait all day for that time to be
That special time- that time for ME
Each needle is threaded, the colors arrayed,
Scissors and chart have been carefully laid.
Now we relax, this is our pleasure
Stitching this piece of soon to be treasure.
We always ignore that mental warning
Stitching all night makes it rough in the morning.

And on my wishlist are the Knotgarden and Indian Summer Reflections already.
Don't know when the Japanese Box comes out again.
I like the online classes; they are a kind of drive too keep up. Although I am far behind with the Celtic Mystery now...

This way I can add photo's from different sections of our computer and resize them.
Some off them are too big for images I discovered.
You'll have to wait some time before you can add the Victorian Garden to your stash: the chart will not be releized within the next year or so.
So time left for some finishes...
